Big night for us at SOCAN’s 100th Birthday Gala last Sunday! Thank you, SOCAN! Cristobal took home the prestigious Screen Composer of the Year Award Best international Filmmusic for his work on SMILE 2 Best international TV-Music, shared with Kim Neundorf for The White Lotus S2 New Podcasts: HANGING OUT WITH AUDIOPHILES – Jamie Lidell chats with Cristo May 4th, 2025 I got hip to Cristobal’s work thanks to my recent TV addiction. I inhaled all 3 seasons of the white lotus and I think I was only able to get so greedy because of the EXCELLENT music. I usually get repelled by TV scores tnh. I feel like I know the tricks and the tones and the emotional devices and I end up paying attention to them in a bad way. My agitation stops me from getting swept up and carried away. Not so with this man’s work. I just felt like it was so deeply connected to the lands and the mystery and power of our animalistic shadows that ride in the narrative. I was taken aback and taken away. It’s been a long time since I found myself loving a soundtrack. I had to know more and thankfully Cristobal (I butcher his name in the pod btw to my shame!) has been fantastic to chat with. I reached out, we set a date to chat and it just flowed. I love that. Hope you enjoy the fascinating insights he shares. He’s so humble about his ways but he clearly is no pushover, knowing what he believes in and fighting for that. I loved this hang. Hope it gets to all to at least buy a shaker if you don’t own one! COMPOSER TALK – Matthew Wang chats with Cristobal Tapia de Veer April 18th, 2025 In this episode, Matt chats with award-winning composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer about his process, scoring workflow, favorite plugins and more. He is the composer of Smile, Smile 2, Utopia, The White Lotus and many more and we are so excited to welcome him on to the podcast! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. KIOSK RADIO – Lexis chats with Marie-Hélène L. Delorme aka Foxtrott Lexis welcomes his talented friend to the show for another musical hangout. Foxtrott is an uber-talented producer, singer, and composer who creates music that always feels unique and intimate, yet expansive, fully exploring all of her musical influences. Lexis and Foxtrott go back-to-back for 2hrs talking about key records, songs that made them cry, their last shazams and more. Kiosk Radio · Outsiders: BACK 2 U (Hosted by Lexis) w/ Foxtrott @ Kiosk Radio 20.03.2025 UNBOUND – A Story of Women’s Foot Liberation (documentary) with music by Roma Yagnik synopsis: For centuries, women have been told that beauty is pain. That blisters and weak feet are the price we pay for style, and persistent foot problems have nothing to do with the narrow, pointy, and heeled shoes we’ve been squeezing into. Spoiler alert: they’re wreaking havoc on our feet and overall health. (Even your not-so-innocent cushioned sneakers!) So we teamed up with visionary filmmaker Becky Hutner (FASHION REIMAGINED) and Oscar-nominated producer Melissa Robledo (FOOD, INC.) to create Unbound: a story of women’s footwear liberation. Unbound is a celebration of women stepping into their power as they question what’s ‘normal’, reclaim their natural strength and discover the joy of barefoot movement.
